Just installed on trailer. Looks to be well made. Fit like a glove and keys worked well. We will see how well it holds up, my guess I think it will be fine.

Still going strong, no problems !!!!

by:

Great Product! We ordered 6 of these for our fleet of trailers. Very convenient with all the same key. Also purchased the matching coupler locks.
We are very happy with both the products AND customer service at etrailer. They are our first and only call for trailer supplies.

by:

Works very well

by:

I bought this coupler lock, because my hitch was too wide for a standard coupler to work. It works fine and looks great. It is a pain to have to keep turning the key around and around to "unlock" the device from the hitch. From a theft or security perspective, it is awesome.

by:

I chose this Trailer Surge Brake Coupler Lock because of its ease of use. The screw on/off function makes installation and removal easy. I also purchased a Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock from e-trailer and had the locks keyed alike.

by:

I ordered this lock and an etrailer branded coupler lock as etrailer’s website says it can be keyed alike to any other etrailer branded lock. I required them to be keyed alike. I received two locks that were keyed differently. There were extra lock cores in the box like someone was going to change them out, but shipped them without doing so. I followed up with customer service to inquire as to why and was told that these locks can only be keyed alike to the same type of lock, not other locks. I was then told they would send the correct replacement lock. Then was told that was not possible. I requested to return my order for a refund as the website was very unclear as to what locks could be keyed alike. I received a refund for less than the cost of one of the locks. Worst experience with etrailer ever. I won’t be buying from them again.

by:

These seem to be made well. Yet to be seen how they hold up over time. Having several trailers, the keyed alike feature was important to me and I was able to order the lengths I needed for the various coupler types. I saw some reviews indicating that the operation of these was slow or tedious. I found that insert the key, hold the key and spin the black end was simple and quick.

These are working well about a year later. Happy with them

by:

This steel lock mechanism will only keep an honest person away. I hit the lock with a hammer and it cracked off, rendering it useless. The key loxk has to be spun on, so if you keep the rubber protector in place its a pain to screw on with the key inserted. Get a reL trailer lock that goes in the ball mechanism. Do not wastevyoyr money on this styleock it is useless against and criminal intetent.

Any lock can be tampered with until it fails. Item # BLTL-50-40D would be a good option for you.

by:

Excellent lock. No rust, no problems despite exposure to the elements all year long.

by:

I have broken 2 locking coupler locking pins due to tongue moving forward with surge brakes. This product is not an ideal solution as you need to spin on and off with the key to lock and unlock the pin. Turning a key 10-15 times to screw in and out is a pain. This will be a back up at best to some other solution I am still seeking.

You may like this product better as it is just one turn of a barrel key which makes it a little easier: Item # MT76FR.

by:

Great product! I bought this coupler lock to replace others that kept bending while pulling my boat. After a year and fishing about once a week, pulling over mountains, and having to hit the brakes hard a couple of times, this coupler has held up superbly! etrailer is my go to place for all trailer products, great selection of products, super description of their products, often with video link, fantastic service and very competitive prices!

Super! Works as good today as the day I receivedit!

by:

Screw cap under key control interesting concept.

by:

As described, perfect fit and looks good. Quick ship as well. Thank you etrailer.com!!

by:

The product being thin to fit the tongue hole size can only be expected do so much. It can deter nuisance tampering and that us exactly what I purchased it for. Any thief could easily defeat this device but that is expected from any lock in this situation.

That's great, Daniel! I'm curious - what kind of trailer did you get? Hauling anything fun?

by:

Good value since the coupler lock works exactly as intended. Best part - even tho outside year around in Seattle weather, no corrosion since chrome plating more than adequate. Works on both electric and surge brake couplers with thru-body locks requiring extra length (span).

by:

I was sent a follow up email asking how I liked the lock, and I have to say that I liked it enough to buy it a second time after I LOST THE KEYS!!! Because losing keys in my job!!! But yes it is a great lock for my trailer, because it has an odd coupler that a pin goes completely through it and you can’t use a standard padlock or coupler lock. The coupler locks sold at local stores were not long enough to go through the coupler, so I has to search the internet and I found this at trailer.com and it works! I would definitely recommend this lock if you have this style of coupler.

by:

Perfect for the Demco EzLatch on my utility trailer. Very easy to use and provides the security for my trailer that I sought.

Works very well, and as intended. Adds a sense of real security & safety.

by:

They work great with our Demco couplers!

by:

Will not unlock. Straight from the package. Did not have time to return it so I had to purchase simple non-locking couple safety pin to be able to pull my trailer.
